1. Get Your Website Set Up
Setting up takes a couple of minutes, with no code and no technical know-how. You sign up with just your email - there's no password to remember. We send you a link, and you click it:
- Pick your name and web address: Enter your artist name and choose your web address (for example
my.showplace.art/jane-doe). - Your gallery is ready straight away: It's set up for you, loads quickly, is easy for search engines to find, and looks great on phones, tablets and computers.
- Confirm and go live: Click the link in your confirmation email and your website is published.
2. Add Your Artwork
There are two easy ways to fill your website with your work:
A. Import from Instagram
Type in your Instagram handle and Showplace shows your recent photo and carousel posts. Tick the ones you want and they become artworks, with your images, captions and dates brought across. You can then tweak titles, descriptions or prices if you like.
Showplace only reads your posts - it never posts to your account, and you can disconnect at any time.
B. Upload Directly
Upload photos of your work from your computer or phone. Showplace automatically prepares versions that load quickly on any device, and keeps your original files safely stored.
You can upload multiple images to create a single artwork (maybe a wide shot, a detail shot and a framed shot). Or you can upload multiple images and each one is created as a separate artwork - good if you have a lot to do all at once!
3. Choose How Your Site Looks
Pick a layout to decide how your artwork is arranged, then a theme to set the look and feel:

4. Sell Your Work
Sell your original artworks, offer prints, or let collectors get in touch first - whichever suits each piece.
A. Enquiries
Collectors can message you through a contact form on your site - ideal for high priced work, commissions, framing questions or studio visits. Messages arrive in your email inbox.
B. Sales
Connect a Stripe account and buyers can pay by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The money goes straight to your bank account, in your choice of USD, GBP, EUR, CAD or AUD. Once a sale is paid, the artwork is marked Sold automatically.
You set your own postage too: choose rates by artwork size (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large), for both domestic and international orders.
C. Prints Without Lifting a Finger
Want to sell prints without printing, packing or posting anything yourself? Showplace works with an international network of print suppliers to do it all for you:
- Upload a high-quality file: Add a high-resolution image of your artwork (up to 50MB). Showplace checks it's sharp enough - at least 150 DPI - for each print size you want to offer.
- Your whole artwork, uncropped: Showplace fits your artwork onto the print and centres it, rather than cutting off the edges.
- Orders handled for you: When someone buys a print, the order goes straight to our suppliers, who print, pack and send it.
- Accurate postage costs: At checkout, buyers see real shipping prices and delivery estimates for their address.
5. Free vs Pro
Showplace is free to use, forever. If you'd like more flexibility and room for your work, there's an optional Pro plan.

6. Pricing & 0% Commission
Showplace keeps pricing simple, and you keep what you earn:
- 0% commission: Showplace takes nothing from sales of your originals or prints.
- Card payment fees: Stripe charges its standard card processing fee on each payment: typically 2% - 3%, depending on the buyer's country and card.
- Print costs: You set the price, and the cost of making and posting the print is taken from the buyer's payment, so the remainder is your profit.
We fund the platform through optional paid features, so your costs are predictable and transparent.

Does Showplace take a commission on my artwork sales?
No. Showplace does not charge any platform commission on both original artwork and print sales. Standard third-party payment processing fees from Stripe apply to transactions.
How does the Instagram import feature work?
The Instagram import is a read-only integration. Showplace imports your public photo and carousel posts, captions, and images to create artwork entries automatically. Showplace never posts to your Instagram account and you can disconnect anytime.

The Free plan supports up to 30 artworks, 2 images per artwork, 0% commission, and a showplace.art URL. How does print-on-demand work on Showplace?
Showplace integrates with an international network of print suppliers. Artists upload high-resolution source files (minimum 150 DPI) and set retail prices above the base production cost. When an order is placed, shipping is calculated live during the checkout for the customer to pay, and our suppliers manufacture and ship the print directly to the buyer.
